London Heathrow (LHR) is located 20 miles (32 km) west of central London. There are 17 international hotels at or near Heathrow. To get to your hotel, from Heathrow take the Heathrow Hotel Hoppa bus, operated by National Express, running every 10-15 mins daily for terminals 1-3 from approx 5:30am – 11:30pm. £4 one way.

To and from London:

  • Rail: Heathrow Express: The fastest route, leaving Heathrow from approx 5:15 am – 11:23pm. Many airlines have full check in facilities at Paddington. £16.50 single ticket, £14.50 if booked in advance. Journey takes 15-20 mins from Paddington.
  • Underground: Piccadilly line into central London, every few minutes from approx 5am (5.50 am sun) to 11.45pm (10.50pm sun) Journey takes approx 50 mins.
  • Coach: National Express between Heathrow’s central bus station Victoria Coach Station from 7.00am- 12:30am. Journey takes approx 40 mins. Return £18
  • Bus: N9 runs midnight- 5:30am every 30 mins to central London. Journey takes approx 65 mins.
  • Taxi: Black cabs take approx 50 mins to central London. Cost is from £40.

London Gatwick (LGW) is the UK’S second largest airport and the 7th busiest international airport in the world, handling 30 million passengers every year. It is located 28 miles (45 km) south of London. Two terminals, north and south, are linked by monorail, taking 2 mins.

To and from London Rail:

  • Gatwick Express: The fastest way to Victoria station. Trains leave Gatwick 4:35 am-1:35am. At peck times trains run every 15 mins (6.05am- 8.05pm) , then every 30 mins. Single £14, return, return £25. Journey takes 30-35 mins. British Airways and American airlines passengers can check in at Victoria.
  • First Capital Connect: To London bridge, Blackfriars and Kings Cross, leaving approx every 15 mins. Adult single £10 at peack times£10.10, return £20. Journey to London bridge is 40 mins. 
  • Southern: To Victoria station every 15 mins 4am-1am and every hour 1am-4am. Single £9, Return £18. Journey takes 35 mins. 
  • Coach: National Express to Victoria Coach station. Coaches run approx every hour, taking one hour and 30 mins. Single £6.20 return, return £11.40
  • Taxi: Cost of a black cab into central London is approx £77. Official Gatwick taxi concession is Checker Cars.

London Stansted (STN) is the third busiest airport in the UK, with over 23.8 million passengers passing through. It is located 35 miles (56km) north east of central London.

To and from London:

  • Rail: Stansted Express: The fastest way to Liverpool Street Station. The journey takes around 45 mins leaving every 15 mins, 8am-4pm weekdays, from Liverpool St and 8am-5pm from Stansted. Single £14.50, return £24
  • Coach: You can buy a ticket from the coach ticket desk in the arrivals area (6am – 9:30pm) in the coach station between zone C and D of the short stay car park, or on the coach. Ticket prices vary. The A6 coach to London Victoria, with various stops, leaves every 10 mins, 25 hours a day, taking around 1 hr 30 mins. Single £10, return £15.
  • Taxi: Journey into central London costs £70-£80 in a black cab. Times vary according to time of day, between 90 mins and 2 hours. The official taxi concession is checker Cars .

London Luton Airport (LTN) is located 35 miles (56 km) north west of London.

To and from London:

  • Rail: A free Luton Airport shuttle bus goes outside the terminal at bay 1 to Luton Airport parkway station in around 10 mins.
  • Thames link: Direct to Kings Cross taking around 15 mins, runs 24 hours. Single before 9:30am £13, after £10.90. Special family fares available .
  • Coach: Greenline 757 to Victoria Coach station runs 24 hours, from 3 times an hour. Journey takes 1 hour 15 mins. Single £11
  • Taxi: Metered trip to/ from central London is approx £75. Lost property.
